Kaiser Extending In-Network Benefits Effective July 1, 2019

Good news for all Kaiser Permanente of WA members (HMO, POS and PPO) – those traveling in another area you can now seek in-network coverage from any Kaiser medical facility.

As of July 1, 2019 Kaiser Permanente of WA has extended their in-network coverage to all of their members seeking care at any Kaiser Permanente facility with a phone call. Members need to obtain a visiting member number by calling Kaiser Permanente member services prior to going to this out of area facility. The number to call can be found on the back of their id card. Beyond Washington state, Kaiser has facilities in California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Previously if a KP of WA member went into a KP facility for non-emergency services in Oregon or California for example – their services would have been out-of-network. As of July 1, members with the visiting member number can now have in-network coverage for any Kaiser facility. This is great news!

As always, members have coverage for emergency and urgent care worldwide.
